10k seems like a lot of words to me. I've just passed the 9k mark and today I finding that I am struggling to get the motivation to get that last amount to keep me on track.

My protagonist isn't one for exclamations but she is prone to responding with frosty glares! I've not yet reached a piece of dialog that calls for intense expression but I feel I'm still around the beginning of my plot.

She is in the process of discovering an entity that wants to pit two kingdoms against each other in war. For the last several decades, both kingdoms have been in a state of peace and even opened up trading for goods. One side is ruled by the protagonist's former lover, so he is aware of what may develop but both are unsure how the other ruler may respond. Actually, I'm still unsure of how he may respond, but for me, that is one of the things I love to discover when writing.

I'd really like to spend an afternoon getting ahead so the remainder days are more relaxing. If that is possible! I'm a descriptive writer, so I feel confidant that I am able to portray things exactly as I want them to be seen, but I really need to work on the actual story line.
