Welcome to all Nano Writers taking part in the August version of Camp NaNoWriMo! It should be an exciting month and the road lies before us, the freshly painted 50K finish line waiting for our triumphant arrival...

But to arrive, we must take those first scary steps. Ignore the blank page (literally or figuratively) and let's just talk about the math. Today's word goal is 1,613 words which is an easy 538 words if you divide the day's writing over three sessions: first thing in the morning, a couple of pages during lunch and again sometime in the evening. That's not so bad, right? Just 538 words, three times a day. And I bet, once you sit down and start writing, you'll do better than that. Just give the lead to your main character and see where he or she takes you!

So to your notebooks, my dear Nano Writers, or to your laptops (or other electronic device of choice) and let the story begin!

OMG ... It's August already. *sweatdrop*
I can't believe July passed by so quickly.
Gah, I would have loved to reach 50 000 words in July. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. Too much work to do in my new appartment. :p
I'm gonna try for August ... But I'm not sure I'll make it. Seeing I still have lots of work in my new appartment. :p
But *sharpens pencil* I have lots of ideas. :p And a bus ride home. :p:p

I won July despite the 'loss of the manuscript' setback I had right in the middle of the month. Am ready to go for August... anyone want to join a cabin or are we all going it alone?

I'm in, even though I don't know exactly what I'm writing. But I've got half a dozen characters and part of a plotline, so I can make the rest up as I go along. Probably. Also, if anyone wants to do the cabin thing, I'm under the same username over there.

Screw it, I'm camping this month! I have a sum total of zero ideas, a wedding in a week, and a cross-country 3000-mile move before the end of the month. "Right in the middle of my crazy life" is right!

I must be mad.

You know those ideas are just going to fester inside bug you until you get them written out somewhere, right? And bus rides are perfect for writing out the next scene...

And living out of boxes is almost like camping... no?

Sounds like you have all that you need to get started! Your characters will tell you the rest of it as you go along. I've added you to my cabin request list. Do you prefer the top bunk or the lower one? ;-)

It sounds like they're having some problems with validating the July writers so I guess the cabins will come online a little later.

Yeah, they are. I know they are.
Luckily I got to write one of them down during the bus ride home yesterday. But right now, the weather is too good to not go to work with my bike. :p So I'll have to write a lot during my half hour lunch break... ^_^"

*grins* Oh yeah, it is indeed. :p I'm considering putting up my tent in the bedroom. XD XD

A few, but it may also be my ISP. The server farm my connection routes through is having problems too. I think it's the imp of perverse out to get me.
