The word count today is 21,671! Just that and a word about details, Nano Writer! They say the Devil is in the details but I say it's where the story comes alive. Add a dash of detail and your bland becomes grand! Your character might drive a red car but if he gets behind the wheel of a 2005 Black Cherry RX-8 Mazda, he'll be going places. And as a bonus, you'll reap a bit of plot or characterization as well as a handful of extra words for your count.

I've actually been pretty absent on descriptions, but one I did manage to remember to write was my main character's bedroom filled with all sorts of pokemon stuff she'd collected since she was eight. If I get stuck I can always go in and put some descriptions in, but...

Total word count: 40,016, of which 4,891 was written today, and I feel ready to collapse. I wrote 4k last Tuesday too -- it seems to be I do poorly on Mondays and then make up for it on Tuesdays so far.

Wow - a fantastic word count! And it sounds like you have a good backup plan. You never know if some special childhood memento might turn out to be the perfect symbol to represent your character's inner story arc.

You've done really well! Sounds like it could be time for a mini break to recharge your creative batteries - but if you're on a roll, keep writing!
