So, how is it going, NaNo writers?
Are you up to date with your wordcount? Or are you way ahead? Or are you - like me - way behind?

Today I decided to finally sit down and force myself to write, write, write. And despite the wordcount not rising like I had hoped it would, I'm getting a very very interesting plot twist...

So NaNo writers, what did your story do to surprise you?

I guess I'd be in the way ahead category as I'm at about 58k now. I hit 50k on the 16th, which is the earliest I've done that and seems a little crazy but I've been having fun with this story. I'm really enjoying writing it, and it's not done. I plan to keep going until it is done and hope that it will be done by the end of the month.

I've been writing an average of 3k a day but a few days have only been about 1k and others have been around 6k. I have written everyday though and I'm really happy with that.

My story is surprising me in that I'm enjoying it so much.

Passed 50k on the 15th, stalled a little at 57.6k due to my attention going elsewhere, but aiming to get back and continue on (hopes of 80k by the end of the month).

Nothing in my fic has really surprised me, but sketches of stuff I put for later in the fic have turned up a lot earlier than I had expected/anticipated. Means a lot of stuff is going to get cut during the editing process, but it has also left me with a decent amount to work with.

I got 50k on the 15th. I'm finishing 893. I actually hope to have the story finished by Christmas. Good luck

I was going well, if slowly, until I discovered what a hot mess this AU fic really is, and it would take a lot of work to reconcile the current fic with the previous fics in this universe. So I ... kind of gave up on it, and now I'm working on finishing another AU fic, which will hopefully give me enough to get my 50k. I'm on target, but yeah. I could do with a couple of 5k days to get me over the line.

I'm exactly on track, but on the days I wrote I wrote quite a lot (I've been taking Sundays off, as an experiment in pacing myself.)
