NaNoWriMo 2009 Day 7
within a man that he does not know
till he takes up the pen and writes.
~ William Makepeace Thackeray

And what do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?
Today brings us to the end of the first week, Nano Writer! Your word count should be better than 11,667... How did you do? The weekend is often a good time to catch up. Don't let yourself fall too far behind the daily word count!
Remember to keep writing!

I'm actually pretty proud of myself because I just managed to include the dare to have God appear in my story, to have Him not have created anything, everyone knew this and they still worship Him. Bee named him Bob because she gets the jeepers talking to someone called God. Not just that, but the dare explained and added plot instead of being something random.

Plot is actually moving along a little more. My bratty little thief is trying to position himself as a spy. I am not sure if he will succeed, nor if/when I'll get around to revealing he's really the princess who ran away a decade ago and has been living as a boy/man ever since. So yes. Fun.
I'm quite enjoying having these posts to reply to every day. It's keeping me on track, so thanks. <3

Agreed. Having somewhere to report back to I'm finding helpful -- it's a good reminder that this is one of my priorities atm, and it helps me feel proud when I've hit my words for the day!

I am proud to announce that my word count is currently sitting on 12487. After the last two days of doing bare minimum, I am starting to get ahead a little bit again. I'm hoping over the next couple of days to get a significant increase on my progress, but I am not making myself any promises!
Today I discovered a third kingdom in my story. My protagonist was musing on just how far the destruction from the up and coming events were going to reach, and happened to mention a queendom that borders on the very far reaches of one of my two locations.
The geography for my story didn't seem to extend beyond my two initial kingdoms and extensive mountain ranges. It certain opens up many potential situations for my story, as well as a potential ally or enemy for my protagonist. I'm curious to see where that will lead but I'm just happy to let the story flow where it wants to.

Am now going to take my grunt candy (Advil) and drink my caffeine, yay. And then, I'm going to attempt to get padding so I can clean all day tomorrow in prep for moving.

What do I know today that I didn't know yesterday... that Lin is feeling more prickly than she is letting on to herself or anyone else.

What do I know today that I didn't know yesterday? What the hell a bekait flower is. I just made up the name two days ago after I realized I hadn't decided what Adja's tattoo was of (and, hey, it was a flower on the cover I made). I just...hadn't thought much further than that point until today XD

Today I learned that there are some things I need to do more research on in order to write, and these things aren't actually setting building things. On the other hand, I learned a minor character I originally decided would first appear in the sequel actually has been a background presence in this one since chapter 3.
