NaNoWriMo 2009 Day 7

Day 7 - 23 days remaining

There are thousands of thoughts lying
within a man that he does not know
till he takes up the pen and writes.

And what do you know today that you didn't know yesterday?

Today brings us to the end of the first week, Nano Writer! Your word count should be better than 11,667... How did you do? The weekend is often a good time to catch up. Don't let yourself fall too far behind the daily word count!

Remember to keep writing!

I am, right now, at 19004. I plan to get to atleast 20000 this evening. It's getting a bit more difficult on account of certain parental units rushing into my room every other minute when I've announced I'm going to write for an hour because of Sims 2 stuff.

I'm actually pretty proud of myself because I just managed to include the dare to have God appear in my story, to have Him not have created anything, everyone knew this and they still worship Him. Bee named him Bob because she gets the jeepers talking to someone called God. Not just that, but the dare explained and added plot instead of being something random.

Much better day today. Managed a little over 2.5k, and my total word count is 15,114. <3

Plot is actually moving along a little more. My bratty little thief is trying to position himself as a spy. I am not sure if he will succeed, nor if/when I'll get around to revealing he's really the princess who ran away a decade ago and has been living as a boy/man ever since. So yes. Fun.

I'm quite enjoying having these posts to reply to every day. It's keeping me on track, so thanks. <3

Am liking the idea of your bratty little thief!

Agreed. Having somewhere to report back to I'm finding helpful -- it's a good reminder that this is one of my priorities atm, and it helps me feel proud when I've hit my words for the day!

What a lovely quote!

I am proud to announce that my word count is currently sitting on 12487. After the last two days of doing bare minimum, I am starting to get ahead a little bit again. I'm hoping over the next couple of days to get a significant increase on my progress, but I am not making myself any promises!

Today I discovered a third kingdom in my story. My protagonist was musing on just how far the destruction from the up and coming events were going to reach, and happened to mention a queendom that borders on the very far reaches of one of my two locations.

The geography for my story didn't seem to extend beyond my two initial kingdoms and extensive mountain ranges. It certain opens up many potential situations for my story, as well as a potential ally or enemy for my protagonist. I'm curious to see where that will lead but I'm just happy to let the story flow where it wants to.

I laugh at your five digit word counts. LAUGH! I have 1668 words and I love them and pet them and feed them and call them George.

Still determinedly chipping away - if I write 1800 words a day for the rest of the month, I'll get there. now to get today's 1800 before it's time to go pretend to be a vampire for 5 hours.

Yeah, my alma mater has a students-and-alumni Vampire LARP that runs every year. XD It should only meet twice this month, so it's just Saturday nights it will eat.

I caught up! I caught up! *dances* I caught up! I was behind, because of Headaches O' D00m, but now am caught up, despite getting another headache o' d00m.

Am now going to take my grunt candy (Advil) and drink my caffeine, yay. And then, I'm going to attempt to get padding so I can clean all day tomorrow in prep for moving.

Just hit 12,079! Finished the first part, and I got to kill a main character today and chop off the legs of another. Good day. 8D

Just over 19.3k at the moment, hoping to get at least 20k by the end of today, if not 21k. With just over four hours left, I should manage it. I know where the majority of the chapter is headed, and slipping in some 'ship tease has kept me amused so far. Unintentionally, dumping the MC and his female (spy) partner in to San Francisco at 1AM, and with a cover story stating that they're a married couple means that I now get to deal with some small issues involving the fact that they've had a double-bed hotel room rented for them by their company.

12,183! I did more than 1,667 today (although only a little bit) so I'm building my cushion back up again, which was my main aim for today. I actually find weekends a bit harder for writing than weekdays, because there's so much else going on -- and I don't work full-time, so most weekdays I have more freedom to do things (including writing).

What do I know today that I didn't know yesterday... that Lin is feeling more prickly than she is letting on to herself or anyone else.

I'm barely ahead at 11926, but I'm pretty pleased because I work weekends, so I thought I'd fall behind for sure. :))

21,114 words! For a moment, I thought I wasn't going to make it, since my nephew's here this weekend and he's always moving.

What do I know today that I didn't know yesterday? What the hell a bekait flower is. I just made up the name two days ago after I realized I hadn't decided what Adja's tattoo was of (and, hey, it was a flower on the cover I made). I just...hadn't thought much further than that point until today XD

I wrapped up today with 15065 words.

Today I learned that there are some things I need to do more research on in order to write, and these things aren't actually setting building things. On the other hand, I learned a minor character I originally decided would first appear in the sequel actually has been a background presence in this one since chapter 3.

I just hit 13792 words. I am absolutely blown away by the progress I've made in the last four hours, since I started using Write or Die.
