NaNoWriMo 2009 Day 10

Day 10 - 20 days remaining

Don’t tell us that the old lady screamed. Bring her on stage and let her scream.

So, it's time for today's word count... is that someone screaming?

Today's word count to beat is 16,667! We're into the second week now. How is everyone's energy? If you find yourself flagging a bit, why not take a break and check out the NaNoWriMo Motivator brought to you by the Chaotic Shiny generator site!

Here's mine: "If you write 1874 more words today they'll put Firefly back on the air." That would be lovely indeed! Hmmm, I need a few more words to go to hit that - time to get back to work! Do you have anything special planned for meeting your writing goals? We're about a week out from the halfway point... so keep writing!

Oh! It's day ten now! I should tally up.

Apparently if I write 2302 more words, Santa Claus will turn out to be real after all! :D I should be able to do that.

On my first day I wrote 2401 words set in three different time periods--one between one week and several months before the story starts, one during the story, and one that was totally AU but with tweaking could have been the future of one of the characters. I was distracted by Star Trek, job callbacks, dinner, boredom, and a total lack of interest in zombies. Too bad my plot is made of zombies. :( But I also discovered Write or Die today, and found I can do 300 words in 10 minutes if I have a jumping-off point. So I am feeling extremely optimistic about finishing before Dec. 9th, my self-imposed due date, and cautiously optimistic about finishing with everyone else. :D

Also I like having a place (here) to siphon off the excess "yesterday" and start thinking about "today".
