NaNoWriMo 2010 - Day 17

Day 17 - 13 days remaining

Putting the characters through pain is never a problem
for me. That's where all the interesting stuff happens.
And growth only comes through pain and struggle.
So it's for their own good really.

So Nano Writer, today's word count is 28,333! How is everyone doing today?

For me, I've been struck down by the latest flu bug and apologize for not being around today (and probably for the next couple of days as well). At least I have a fresh perspective on fevers and other modes of illness. And hey, it'll all be for my MC's own good right? ;-)

Excerpts, comments, questions, a bit of purple prose? It's all good!

And as always - keep writing!

i hope you feel better soon!

busy day for me on other stuff, so I didn't get to put in much time writing ... still I made it a point to spend a little time this evening so I at least got a few hundred words done, including this:

I couldn't wait to kick off my heels. The moonlets seemed happy to see me, so I played with them for a while as I filled D in on the afternoon's meetings. Much to my relief she told me that she had convinced a Kali, Kalliope, Hel, Helen, Aphrodite, and the anomaly to reschedule my afternoon and evening meetings with them, so all I had on my agenda was a brief 5:30 p.m. chat with engineering -- and going out later to Shrine of the Goddess with her and Persephone, if I was up for it.

There was just enough time before the engineering chat to take a shower and change into something more comfortable. As soon as I sat down at my computer the moonlets jumped into my lap and with D sitting there I didn't want to shoo them away so I let them stay. They purred happily throughout the engineering chat. Why is it that cats always like people who don't like cats?
