So you’ve read through all the week’s post (you have haven’t you?) and tried all the exercises and you still haven’t come up with a promising premise that makes your girlfriend/boyfriend/mother/significant other sit up and say - without prompting - “I’d buy that book” then today’s exercise is for you!

*laughs* OMG ... That is an hilarious logline. :p One that actually I wouldn't mind seeing being written. :p:p

I got : An owner of a convenience store and a legion of geeky-but-sexy chefs discover an ancient burial ground.
and because I couldn't resist :
A yodeling tour guide, a flying boy, and a gang member search for the Fountain of Youth in a poolhouse.

Yeah, the suggestions do take you to fascinating places. :p

Definitely! I think that's what really great about random generators in general - you get these odd juxtaposition of ideas that kind of jolt me out of the usual writing ruts I get accustomed to and it becomes a fun exercise to see if I can work out a way to make the suggestion work. I really like your second logline because it's full of such interesting diverse characters!

I probably clicked on it about 50 times. Below are my favs.

1) A nudist debutante goes into business with a conservative sorceress.--This one has possibilities. Now I need to come up with a business for the two to have.

2) An intellectual assassin plays cardgame with the adopted daughter of a junkyard owner in a parking garage. ---This one would be the set up for something more.

3) Five indecisive gynecologists talk about sex in a dangerous alley.--Just sounded like a 'fun' scene to write.

I find these kind of generators oddly addictive too. I wonder if it would be possible for all three of your loglines to be worked into one storyline... maybe the debutante (the secret daughter of the assassin) goes to a high stakes poker game with her roommate (the adopted daughter of the junkyard owner) where they meet a mysterious woman (the sorceress) who works with a gynecology practice as their "fertility" consultant ;-)
