NaNoWriMo 2012 - Day 2
The maker of a sentence launches out into the
infinite and builds a road into Chaos and old Night.
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today's word count is 3,334! And because it's Friday, let's talk about backing up those words... It's not too early to think about it, Nano Writer! So what's your method of choice? Flash drive? Cloud drive? E-mail? Make it a habit now and you'll never have to worry about losing your work!
Questions? Comments? Excerpts to share? It's all good! So keep writing!

I did, however, spend a good portion of time writing up future scenes: this whole "becoming a registered trainer and get your first pokemon" is taking up a lot more words than I expected -- almost 5k in and my main character has passed her exam, gotten her trainer card, and got a "starter pack" of items from her father (who works at Silph Co., the company that makes all the stuff). I've got three scenes planned out, including one rather long one, so those should do me for tomorrow. I'm hoping -- fingers crossed -- I can get to at least 10k by the end of the weekend as that'll put me at an average of 2.5k words a day.
As for back-ups, I've been emailing it to myself every day so far, so I have daily records of what I've written (all with subject titles so I can easily see which is the most recent version, although I am currently on v3 as I emailed myself yesterday morning and again at about 5). I'm not worried about keeping it private as it's fanfiction.
