NaNoWriMo 2012 - Day 16

Day 16 - 14 days remaining

I'm sorry I wrote such a long letter.
I did not have the time to write a short one.

Today's word count is 26,672 and it's Back-It-Up Friday! You know the drill everyone! Back Up Your Novel!

And it's the beginning of our third weekend - time to catch up, add to or push ahead with our stories! Remember too, now is not the time to give into worries and doubts the inner editor tries to saddle us with while we are creating! Write "long" and give it your all!

Questions? Comments? Back-up plans? Just do it and keep writing!

33,120! I've spent most of my writing today filling in blanks and fleshing out things, so it's beginning to feel more complete now.

Also, I burnt down a little village. And there are now soldiers everywhere. :D But hey, it's making everyone freak out! :D

Still only have a vague notion of an ending, but we'll see. I'm not sure the epic conflict against the State is going to happen. Because ... I don't think they care enough. I think they'd all rather find somewhere isolated and safe where they can be self-sufficient and just take care of each other. Build a new home. That's what they want.

I want one of them (at least) to get arrested, but even I'm thinking that might be possible just yet. I don't think there's enough of a badass dystopian government in place yet to make the conflict I wanted plausible, given it's still only been no more than about six months since the apocalypse. But spending a lot of time on recovery isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think they need it. Going up against the State can wait for another sequel, I think. If they ever let me write it. XD
