Just one week left until NaNoWriMo starts. For some of us this will be the last free weekend until December.  If you haven't started one, consider making a NaNo survival kit. Get all those must haves together and ready to go. Any 'must haves' you want to share?

Enjoy the weekend, and write down those plot bunnies. You'll need them next Saturday.

My writing charm (a stuffed kitsune and a tiny hooded figure reading a book)
Pens and pencils
Socks and shoes
Winter Soldier hoodie
A schedule in whiIe break down the week in projects/wordcount
Books both reference and leisureD
DW/LJ so I can babble about how I love/hate/have no idea what I'm doing.

A NaNoWriMo Survival Kit? Never heard of such a thing. Oh now I KNOW I'm not ready to do this. *grabs paper and pen and starts making yet another list.*

My survival kit includes screen-dimmers, custom autocorrects and Excel spreadsheets, cases of Mountain Dew (in every flavor so my taste buds don't get as tired as my fingers do), comfy pants, and fleece blankets. My stack of writing reference books are already situated on my desk. Everything else is secondary.

This is my survival kit so far,
Laptop
Word program (Trying the trial version of Scrivener. Normally, I use YWriter)
Kindle Fire (For the 1 a.m. inspiration and don't want to get out of bed and start up the computer)
Blank composition book (For when electronics aren't available.)
Pens (No pencils! Erasing is not allowed. :P
Notebook devoted to details/plotting/characters
Chapter and character notecards (I'm still working on this)
NaNo playlist (Still trying to add music to set tone of story)
IHeart radio
Timer (For wordwars and as reminder to write)
Candy (Note to self, check out the post Halloween sales)
Diet soda
Flower ring (For luck)
Sweater (If room gets cold)
Fan (If room gets hot. It's Texas the weather is temperamental)
**Flash drive (I've never ever had a problem with my computer losing files, but it may be a good idea to back things up... even things not related to NaNo. An occasional backup of important info is a good habit to have. Computers do occasionally die. Steps off soapbox made from two dead computers)
