Could this block buster help you come up smelling like roses?
Another method several Nano Writers suggested to try when writer’s block leaves you high and dry: description! Write your way out of your dry spell by describing what your character sees – right there in the scene, right now.
If this seems overwhelming, try focusing on the “smaller” picture as suggested by Anne Lamott in her writing guide Bird by Bird:
I go back to trying to breathe, slowly and calmly, and I finally notice the one-inch picture frame that I put on my desk to remind me of short assignments.
It reminds me that all I have to do is to write down as much as I can see through a one-inch frame. This is all I have to bite off for the time being.
