You don't actually upload your novel yet. That's for validation later on. (They usually make it available around the 25th or so, if iirc.)
Right now it's based on faith until you validate. Just type your wordcount into that box I've outlined in red at the top of the page, and hit 'Update Word Count' next to it. Voila! You're golden.
