I'll blame work (since it's a stress heavy zone right now and by the time I get home I'm so emotionally exhausted that I don't have the energy to be creative). I'll also blame my inability to sit in front of the computer and produce.
However, I had a good night of writing (and stayed up far too late, but we'll regret that later). After a 4,000 word day I'm up to 19,942. I need one or two more 4k days and I'll be caught up with some room to breath. Or just a string of good 2k days to keep the momentum up.
My decision a few days ago to start fresh with the same characters in a new plot and new setting has paid off completely. I'm inspired again and these characters are thriving in their new digs. There's tons of story for me to plumb here; I just have to get at it and give myself the time and space to do it.
This is a special nano for me. It's the tenth anniversary; my tenth nanowrimo and my 12th noveling attempt in this format. This year feels like the story I've been trying to tell for years; it just hadn't formed up enough for me to find the words.
