And where did your story take you today, Nano Writer?

10K today! Are you keeping up? Are you getting caught up in your protagonist's troubles (and there should be a whole world of troubles) and do better than 10K? Tell us! What's your protagonist's favorite expression? My POV character seems to swear a lot by "the Mother's Soul" (sometimes just "Mother" ;-).

For better or worse, keep writing Nano Writer!

Still at 8012, and staring at this document with some sense of dawning horror at what I've gotten myself into. The main character should still be suffering and giving me plenty to write, but I ended up writing the death scene early, so now I have the halfway point of my book done... and I'm out of steam.

I'm going to try very hard to hit 10k tonight, no matter what I have to write to get there.

Can you add a subplot to complicate things (also a good story thread to carry the theme if you have one in mind) or some background for one (or two) of your minor character(s)? Your first draft doesn't have to to be linear. It can all be reshuffled and cleaned up later. Good luck!
