Day 8 - 22 days remaining

Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I don't feel I should be doing something else.

During NaNoWriMo, what else is there?

Today's quotation was submitted by Nano Writer [personal profile] mbeancntr - thanks!

Sometimes finding time to write can be difficult, we have so many things in our lives: family, school, friends, work, that it feels like writing a 50,000 word story in four weeks is an impossible thing to do. But You Can Do It! Today's word count to beat is 13,333! How's everyone doing? You can do it! Just keep writing!

This weekend was a productive one on NaNo, not so much on homework. Oh well. I'm now over 17k, with plans to push through to 18k before the night is through so that I've got plenty of buffer to make up for the fact that I really need to study for a test on Thursday.

And, because today I introduced the last of my main cast, an excerpt:
“You’re an idiot, Sam.”

Samuel blinked, recognizing the voice before the speaker even came into view. “Finnian Breckenridge? What are you doing here?”

With a snort of disbelief, Finnian fixed his green eyes on Samuel. Some passionate emotion was lurking in the depths of his eyes, although there was little other sign of it on Finnian’s face. “Fixing you. When’d you get the idea that it would be a smart idea to take an airship anywhere without a medic on board?”

Samuel frowned. “I had George hire the crew…”

“And you figured he’d hire the medic, huh?” Finnian shook his head. “I’d have figured you’d know better than to set off without a medic. You didn’t even think to question it, did you? Sam, you knew full well the skies were dangerous. I offered up a decent enough example of that. Or have you forgotten why we met in the first place?” His voice grew increasingly sharp as he spoke.
