Tomorrow may be hell, but today was a good writing day,
and on the good writing days nothing else matters.

Today's word count is 36,667. Did everyone have a chance to catch up over the weekend?

For most of us in the states, we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving this Thursday and many schools schedule time off so students can go home for the holidays! More time for writing, right? Right? Hello? Uh, where did everybody go?

Excerpts, questions, comments? Remember everything's good! Keep writing!

not as good a day as i had hoped ... activism getting in the way. why couldn't the TSA have waited until after NaNoWriMo to start groping and irradiating passengers? oh well. i still made it to 54,889

"Who would you say is in power?"

"Juno, Arachne, Aphrodite, Helen ... Athena I suppose. Oh, and D ..."

"Let's leave D and the anomaly out of it for now. And Juno's real name is Hera. So it's Hera, Arachne, Aphrodite, and Helen. What about Golden Apple and M&M?"

"True, so let's add Athena and perhaps Eleus to the list. And in engineering there's Daedalus, Ariadne ... you of course."

"I report to Persephone. Xochiquetzal and Orihime report to Daedalus. None of us have any real power."

"But Xochi and Orihime are both founders!"

"Yes. Are you starting to see what I'm getting at?"

I thought about it and finally it dawned on me. "Everybody in power is Greek."

"Yes. And nobody from any other traditions has power -- except the anomaly."

"And D."

"Yes, of course. The anomaly and D are exceptions."

I'm still behind, but getting closer. Just wanted to say that I love today's quote, because tomorrow is hell but today was a good writing day!

Love today's quote! And gosh I hope today will be a good writing day again, because yesterday was not a good one. *pouts* I really do hope I will manage to write some more during this week...
*shrugs* Oh well, weekends are always hell...

As for the word count ... It will be growing along the week. XD I have high hopes for finally catching up this week and writing more than the daily word count. XD

The weekend was an entire wash.

Trying to work on stuff today, though. for now, I'm going back to it and hoping to get a good chunk of the fight scene done before the kids get home, or I pass out.

But, a clip:

Jin-Yu frowned. She didn’t know the name. What the hell was going on? This had the potential to erupt into a full-on clan war unlike any seen in the Inner Sanctuaries in… centuries at least. Especially if the Metsumis didn’t just surrender.

It didn’t look like they were going to do that any time soon.

She watched the others, and could see the confusion on Kazuki’s face. Maybe he didn’t know what was going on. She saw someone tense at the flow of magic coming from the front and wondered if they should just leave. There was an opening, and sutepp offered them a modicum of protection.

Maybe.

She saw another man reach for his sword. She didn’t think; she reacted. Instinctually reaching for the magics, she grabbed her cousin by the collar and sutepp-ed to the side. They fell into a tangle of limbs in the room where Kazuki had been.

“Did you just sutepp through the window?” Min Hou asked, incredulous.

I've become terribly behind in my words as second week I had a bit of a splat and wrote nearly nothing. So my count is at 28,131. According to my wonderful Nano spreadsheet, this means I'll have to do 2800 words every day to be on track for completion. I feel a little silly about letting it get so bad, but I'm determined to hit the 50,000 no matter what. Though I may enter December a little flat and exhausted!

I'm in a similar situation - work and family have both been unexpectedly demanding in the last fortnight. I took a day off work today, started at 24,218 words and finished with 30,304. I've even managed to progress the plot a bit :)

So keep going, I'm sure you can do it!

That's a great leap forward! Thanks for the encouragement - was gratefully received, and good luck with the next week!

Thank you! :)

I find that if I set myself word count goals then that really helps me write, particularly if I have limited hours in the day, so keeping track of it works for me - sometimes I just hit the goal and am grateful to stop writing, and other times I keep on going. The pressure is also good at keeping me focused - but I am definitely still having fun with it!
