Day 6 - 25 days remaining

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The ideal view for daily writing, hour for hour, is the blank brick
wall of a cold-storage warehouse. Failing this, a stretch of sky will do,
cloudless if possible.

- Edna Ferber

For me, I find that my writing flows best when listening to music. My favorite these days is something called movie trailer music (the score usually heard during previews for movies by artists such as E.S. Posthumus and Two Steps from Hell) and movie soundtracks (Lord of the Rings and Narnia) - so great for tuning out the everyday world and really getting into the world of my story.

Do you have a favorite place to be when writing or the perfect routine that helps you communicate with your muse?

The word count to beat today is 9,677, Nano Writers! Questions, comments, music recommendations? It's all good - so keep writing!

My writing usually goes best when I listen to some music. Doesn't really matter what music. As long as it's a style I like. :D
Right now it's movie music. Instrumental. So I won't get distracted when I start singing along with the songs. :p

As for the place... Somewhere quite... Where no one bothers me. My new appartment for example, where there is still soooo much work. My room in my parent's place. The park. Downstairs when there is no one else at home.

E S Posthumus! Oh, yeah, they make for a good writing soundtrack. I have them saved in my iTunes just for that. When I'm able to write, I can write anywhere. It's the 'able to write part' that sometimes gives me problems!

I apparently cannot be trying to write anywhere but at a desk. It just doesn't work, the words don't come.

And there has to be music. The music changes depending on the muse, but once I find the right music, the words just come out so much easier.

Started a few days late. I don't want to mention how many words I have exactly because it's more than a little terrifying. Let's just say I'm around about the starting line, but gaining momentum with each word.

I might not meet the line where I'm supposed to be for a few days more; I'll be taking the steeper slope if I can manage it.

Live or die by nano. I won't give in.
