What mask my MC wears...
A smile. Even when she's hurt or sad, she'll never show it. She always hides behind a smile. Always. Even when she feels like crying.

I would say professionalism when playing psychiatrist, but also I think that men were very bound by societal expectations of what constituted being the "head of the family" in the 50s so I think he can't be entirely open even with his wife.
