Had a really hard time getting started today. I didn't hit my groove until like 9PM (thank heaven for the #antidiogenes chatroom!) and barely squeaked past 3334 at 11:47. I think I was 50 words up at midnight.

Show me not to take advantage of post-midnight writing time! So at this rate I'm just barely on track for 50k, and rather behind for 75k, but it's early days yet, and I'm chancing up the early sections to make it both easier and less boring to write. After all, if it's baring to write, it'll be boring to read! So hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Excerpt:
He was mad, and I barely knew him, but he was brilliant and he had cured my limp and I already knew that I needed him. I needed him, and I couldn't let this unassuming cabbie kill him.

I took the gun from my waistband, lined up the shot, and squeezed the trigger. I didn't wait to see if I had made the shot--I knew I had. I got the hell out of there.

Second what aximili says, your excerpt is very cool. I think it fits the scene well ("A Study in Pink" right?)
