The word count today is 25,000 and we have officially arrived at the halfway point, Nano Writer! It is quite an accomplishment to be sure but don't stop now - things should be getting quite interesting/complicated for your protagonist. Time to shift into high gear and charge into the fray! The writing this week should be a lot of fun as your characters finally start to mix it up. Who will come out on top?

I seem to have hit the week 2 slump a bit late: 764 words today and towards the end every single one I was writing I thought "this is rubbish". I've kept them, and hoping for a better attitude tomorrow and during the weekend.

Total wordcount: 40,780.

764 is so much better than zero and every word counts - even stuff that we aren't every happy about. I'm very happy to hear that you kept them! In the end, they might get the red pen but it's also possible that in re-reading them some other time, they'll be inspirational, even indirectly.

You know too that your word count is seriously awesome, right?

Today, I struggled. I was just staring and writing words that I didn't like. So, I took a nap, came back and realized what I had to do to fix it and move the story ahead. I managed that. I managed to work in another 1kish or so after I'd thought I was struggling. Right now, I'm at a comfortable 37,329. Tonight is Football, so that's my goal for tonight: Watch some football and read something. I've got an idea as to where the rest is going, and what'll happen next.

I've got errands to run tomorrow, so that'll cut into writing time, but I'm not worried. For now? FOOTBALL

A great word count! And yes, sometimes we need to get our head out of the story for a bit and come back refreshed, with new ideas! So we'll see you later!

I got past 28K today. I don't like any of the words (and one of my favourite online communities is closing its doors forever, and that's distracting me a lot with sadness), but I wrote them.

Thanks. I hadn't been there long, but it was really welcoming and lovely (it is a game called Glitch; the owners are shutting it down in the classiest and most generous way possible, but it had a glorious community where I didn't have to be afraid of gaming-while-female, so yeah. I will sorely miss it.)

That being said though, the NaNo word counter says I am on track to hit 50K by the 25th - just in time to validate. I'm going to charge for that goal.
