The word count today is 40,008! Another 10k-prize day! Yes, even this close to the end, you still deserve congratulations and recognition for what you have created so far! But it's not done yet!

Write! Write! Write! Don't spend time chasing after ten dollar words or trying to lay down perfect prose. Now's the time to capture the pure essence of your story - beginning, middle and end - in a butterfly net of creative joy and crazy, stupid love for your characters.

You can do it!

40,200. I took like two weeks off so now I have to work on keeping an adequate day-to-day word count.

(Also, is the word count actually 40,008? The website as far as I can tell says 40k flat. I'm not sure if it's a sign I need to get my vision checked again or what, lol.)

A lovely word count... keep writing! I think the discrepancy is due to rounding techniques when doing the division. I tend to round up throughout the month as opposed to an up and down kind of thing meant to keep the daily word count "even" - so 40,000 + 8 words for our count rather than 40,000 even - hoping to get everyone to write just that bit more ;-) In the end though, it's the 50K that wins!
