It is by sitting down to write every morning that one becomes a writer.
— Gerald Brenan
It’s the third of our four weekends, Nano Writers! How is everyone’s project coming along? Hopefully everyone is doing well or will be able to catch up over the weekend. Remember too to take the time to Back Up Your Work! Keep writing!

Date: 2013-04-21 06:21 am (UTC)I've skipped it for the past week and done some editing further in the story. But eventually I'l have to go back to it and rewrite it. But.. It's hard.
Other than that scene - and the knowledge I'll soon have to start working on it - all is good. :-)

Date: 2013-04-21 11:40 am (UTC)Would you laugh if I said, after ~11.5 years of writing, I seem to have finally gotten the method out that works for me? I've been working quite well with plotting notes, but what seems to actually get the words out is me writing in 15 minute bursts. I write for 15 minutes, break for 5, then start writing again -- in one hour (3 writing sessions) I can get down between 2.2k and 2.5k words.
Considering previously I've been struggling with writing lots this is really helpful to me, and allows me to look at Mondays and Thursdays (which are full work days) with a lot more optimism -- even if I only have on hour spare, with plans I can still knock out over 2k of words towards my goal.
So, I still need to write, but a few hours after dinner should be enough to get me over the 4.2k daily minimum I need to finish with 90k :)
